Under Its Roof

Rooftop under a waning moon.

The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.
— Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

It's taken me a couple of years to figure out that the way for the order-seeking side of my personality to harness the energy of my freewheeling side is to challenge it to a task for no more than 30 Days.  I've come to the end of a thirty day challenge (NaPhoPoMo) in which I posted at least one photo a day on this blog and I'm now ready for another discipline. While my freewheeling side is still fast asleep (5:52 a.m.), I'm pronouncing 2016 to be a Year of Creative Habits.

I've signed up for Crystal Moody's course with the plan of doing monthly creative projects, and the hope that a daily habit of art-making will appear. I've admired Crystal's daily efforts from a distance for the last two years and although I have no idea what I'm going to be doing (yet), I can see the top of a roof. I'm stepping toward it slowly, it's where I want to spend the next year.
